A Personal Perspective
From the Founder: Why The Table Kampala Matters
This isn’t just a platform. It’s personal.
As a mother of two—and with my eldest now entering her preteen years—I feel the complexity, beauty, and urgency of this life stage every day. These years are tender, defining, and often misunderstood. Identity is forming. Confidence is fragile. And the need for real, meaningful connection has never been greater.
Today’s young people—Gen Z and Gen Alpha—are growing up in a world filled with noise. Social media, peer pressure, academic competition, and global uncertainty surround them constantly. They are expressive, creative, and full of potential—but also overstimulated, under-supported, and unsure of where they belong.
Why We Built This
In too many homes—especially those balancing fast-paced, high-pressure careers—conversations are brief, and connection feels rushed or distant. The emotional tools to bridge these generational gaps are often missing.
That’s why we created The Table Kampala:
To be more than an event series.
To be more than a program.
To be a bridge.
A Platform That Listens First
We’ve built a space where youth feel seen, heard, and understood—and where parents, educators, and mentors are invited to show up with empathy and intention.
We don’t design for young people—we build with them. From concept to execution, youth shape every part of what we do. Because what they’re asking for is simple:
“See me.”
“Support me.”
“Let me be part of something real.”
That’s what The Table is. A platform that listens first, responds thoughtfully, and brings generations back into conversation.
More Than a Mission—It’s a Commitment
For me—as a parent, a creative, and someone deeply committed to the future of Uganda’s youth—The Table Kampala is my personal response to a collective need. A need for belonging. A need for purpose. A need for safe, creative, emotionally intelligent spaces where young people can grow into who they’re becoming.
We’re not just building programs.
We’re building people.
We’re building possibility.
We’re building futures—with youth at the center.
